  1. 1 At a run, from the first line No genealogy, no infancy: baptised, tested, four fishermen called, and a day that ends with a whole town at the door. Explained
  2. 2 Five scenes, five objections A roof opened, a tax collector called, a fast not kept, grain picked on a Sabbath: the case against him, laid out in order. Explained
  3. 3 The plan is made The objections become a decision: on the same day he restores a withered hand, the Pharisees take counsel with the Herodians about destroying him. Explained
  4. 4 A chapter of seeds Three parables about something sown, and one about a lamp that was never meant to stay under a basket. Explained
  5. 5 Three nobody could help A man no chain could hold, a woman who had spent everything on physicians for twelve years, and a child already dead when help arrived. Explained
